Figurative art

Figurative art, sometimes written as figurativism, describes artwork (particularly paintings and sculptures) that is clearly derived from real object sources and so is, by definition, representational. The term is often in contrast to abstract art:
Since the arrival of abstract art the term figurative has been used to refer to any form of modern art that retains strong references to the real world.

  Bridge to the World of Art Drawing has always been an immediate bridge to the world of art for me. This magical connection forms in a fraction of a second, with the press of a pencil, charcoal, or marker tip on paper. For me, drawing is not just an art, but a language through which I can express my emotions and thoughts without any limitations. Drawing is not confined to a specific place or time. More than being limited to the conditions of creation, it is a reaction to the excitement of seeing. Every time I am amazed by a phenomenon, my hand reaches for the drawing tools, and in that moment, a magical connection forms between me and that phenomenon.
